Are we replaceable?

Posted in Christianity, Uncategorized on May 25, 2011 by Ken

Another great post from Pastor Steven Furtick:

“Everyone is replaceable.

We all feel the call.  We all feel that we need to be the one and the only one.  Whether it is work, family, friends, church, etc.  Pastors feel this.  CEOs feel this.  I feel this.

But we are replaceable.

This isn’t easy to accept, but it’s absolutely essential that we do it. It communicates urgency to us. Not in the sense that God is urgent for us to do something for Him. But urgency in the sense that the window of our opportunity to do something with God isn’t open indefinitely. It has to be seized now

What is Hell?

Posted in Uncategorized on May 22, 2011 by Ken

Today’s sermon at church was about hell.  Specifically the lie that if God was good there would be no hell.

I think hell is the absence of God.  God won’t force you to love him nor will He force you to be with Him for eternity.  So hell is the other place where God is not.  To me that is hell.  To be in eternity without God is hell.

Heaven is with God for eternity.

End of the World is May 21???

Posted in Uncategorized on May 20, 2011 by Ken

Really?

Sigh.

The bible is clear on two points.  First is that no man will know the time or date of Jesus return.  Second is that you can test a prophet based on if their prophecies come true and if the prophecy does not come true you stone the false prophet.  Or least don’t listen to the prophet any more since we don’t stone folks these days.

So the idiot who says the end of the world is tomorrow, May 21 cannot possibly know since you cannot get that from the bible.  This same idiot said the end of the world was in 1994 and that didnt come true.  So this a false prophet and I find it sad that folks are still willing to listen to him and give him their money.

UPDATE:

Still here.  But it is only 2:33 pm so less than 4 hours left.  🙂

UPDATE:

Didn’t happen.  Just as I thought.  God has a time but we are not privy to that knowledge.  If ever someone tells you they know, run away from them. 🙂

UPDATE:

Wow.  He won’t go away.  Says he is off 5 months so now it is October 21.  Sigh.  I liked the tweet from Pastor Steven Furtick.  “Harold! Harold! Harold! My man Harold! The score is functional unraptured universe 6 billion you 0. The clock says 0:00

Ronald McDonald makes kids fat

Posted in Uncategorized on May 20, 2011 by Ken

Sad.  Really sad.

Lets blame others for our faults.  Lets sue others for our decisions.

Doctors want Ronald to retire and the CEO is defending Ronald.

Seems there is a big push on by many to get McDonald’s to get rid of their mascot as it makes kids fat.  Well, not fat but encourages the kids to pester their parents to take them to McDonald’s and eat.  After all, parents have no say.  😛

MMORPG and Christians

Posted in Uncategorized on May 19, 2011 by Ken

Anything incompatible about being a Christian and playing MMORPG games?

Been playing computer games for years and World of Warcraft the past 5+ years.  Met some Christians along the way but most are not.

Just wondering.

Born Again Messy

Posted in Uncategorized on May 19, 2011 by Ken

This caught my eye today and wanted to highlight and comment.

From Steven Furtick:

“But here’s the truth many churches don’t want to accept: it’s very messy for broken people to be healed and transformed. It takes time. Birth is messy. It isn’t pretty. And guess what? Neither is new birth. Following Jesus is messier than people make it out to be. And it’s just as messy and dirty for churches trying to empower people to do it.”

I loved the analogy of a new born baby with a born again person.  Neither comes without mess and dirt.  Are we prepared to help them?

Hello World!

Read many blogs, but never crafted one myself.  So decided to give it a go and see where it ends up.

I plan to post items from a Christian, Conservative, Engineer (aka logical) perspective.

Hope you enjoy. 🙂
