Why are you fearful?

In Mark 4:35-41, Jesus rebuked the wind and calmed the seas and then says “why are you fearful? Do you still have no faith?”

We know what happens when a boat sinks. We know the fear of possibly drowning. How does knowing that make is less faithful? That in and of itself doesn’t make us less faithful. It’s when we know we are with God and then act fearful that we show our lack of faith. Those in the boat knew they were with Jesus and yet feared they would die. Did they not know yet who Jesus was?

At the end of the passage they asked themselves “Who then is this? Even the wind and sea obey Him!” So maybe they didn’t understand that God was with them.
